Improved method to monitor bearing wear
An extended, advanced version of our bearing wear monitoring system for two-stroke diesel engines was presented at the SMM trade fair.
At the international SMM trade fair for the maritime industry in Hamburg, Germany, Rovsing Dynamics presented an extended and improved version of our OPENpredictor™ method for early and accurate detection of crank-train bearing wear in diesel engines. In addition, this online condition monitoring system can predict failure and prevent downtime of other critical rotating or reciprocating components on diesel engines, turbines, turbochargers, gearboxes, pumps and fans.
Delivered as stand-alone or in a combined solution, OPENpredictor™ provides ship owners and managers with an effective and profitable tool to improve vessel reliability and profitability.
Read more in our Press Release, in our Newsletter July 2006 and in our Maritime Brochure.
OPENpredictor™ provides the crew with real time information about the condition of critical machinery. If e.g. bearing wear increases beyond 250 µm (as shown), the bars turn yellow and later red, and the system automatically issues an early warning message.
